Beginning on the West Branch Delaware River, this paddle goes through steep wooded hillsides and a few small cities from Balls Eddy to Narrowsburg. The river has various islands with channels around them. Mountains are gorgeous along this route, creating cliffs and rock outcrops. Just past the city of Milanville is the start of Skinners Falls, a strong Class II rapid that is the most challenging along this route. The safest route along the falls is along the right shore. Before reaching Narrowsburg after high cliffs and ledges, is the deepest spot on the river, a large pool called Big Eddy.
